Ripple provide brick and mortar businesses with mobile loyalty programs including apps and push messaging. We recently helped Cafe Rouge launch a mobile loyalty app for their Cafe Rouge Express brand.
Teaming up with Ripple, Cafe Rouge, part of the Tragus group has jumped on the chance to create an app to increase footfall and pull coffee lovers in by the hoards. The days of having a stack of messy ripped dog-eared loyalty cards vying for space in your already overstuffed wallet or purse is over, say hello to the future. The mobile loyalty app.
The app, available for both the iPhone and android platforms, combines a menu and map element alongside a location based loyalty card allowing customers to “check in” after each purchase to receive a stamp. The loyalty card allows customers to receive a free cup of coffee after collecting eight virtual stamps.
Café Rouge have recognised the need for an app in today’s mobile savvy society where checking in somewhere is just as expected as breathing. Digital Marketing manager Sean Pound stated that an app must have a “main point of difference” and the fact that Ripple offer the loyalty aspect was a major decision maker when choosing which platform to use. Pound also stated that Café Rouge already have a coffee loyalty scheme but by replacing it with the app thereby reduces the risk of fraud and makes checking download information simple.
Pound later claimed the reasons behind picking Ripple were largely due to the fact that they offer a “really quick, low cost way of getting into the market”. He also recognised the fact that “apps can cost a lot and take a lot of time, but the Ripple solution bypasses all of that” and it took just one week to get his app to market.
According to Pound, if the app is successful it is possible that Tragus will re-skin the app and re-use it for its other brands changing functionality to suit each individual brand.
